Loneliness in a relationship
Feeling alone inside a relationship, without feeling understood by the other person.
What the Bible can tell you
Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted.
Psalms 25:16
If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:12
teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Matthew 28:20
A human reading
Being accompanied does not always remove loneliness. If you feel this way, speak about it honestly and ask whether the other person feels it too. The conversation can open a path that silence does not.
This page offers reflection and companionship; it does not replace a professional. If what you feel weighs heavily or lasts for weeks, talk with someone you trust or with a health professional.
